Pakistani military operations killed sixteen suspected militants, arrested thirty-five more, and confiscated a large stash of weaponry in Khyber Agency on Friday; Tehrik Nifaz-i-Taliban (TNSM) leader Maulana Saifullah surrendered to Pakistani security forces along with two supporters. �

• �Military operations in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency Friday saw at least 16 suspected militants killed and 35 more arrested. Officials reported seizing hundreds of weapons and explosives, as well as a large quantity of narcotics, and predicted that anti-militant operations would soon be expanded to other parts of the agency.[1]

• Official reports indicate that Maulana Saifullah, a leader of the Tehrik Nifaz-i-Shariat Muhammadi (TNSM) and close associate of the group's founder, Sufi Mohammed, surrendered to security forces on Friday along with two supporters. Meanwhile, at least three more militants were killed and ten captured in operations in Swat; Pakistani army chief General Ashfaq Kayani announced that the military would remain until the region is completely cleared of Taliban.[2]
