Yemen Security Brief
- Unidentified gunmen riding on motorbikes assassinated a Yemeni security officer in Taiz on July 2. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.[1]
- Suspected Southern Movement militants clashed with the 33rd Amored Brigade in al Dhaleh on July 2.[2]
Horn of Africa Security Brief
- An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near Wajid, Bakool region on July 2. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast, which appeared to target nearby Somali National Army (SNA) forces.[3]
- Unidentified gunmen killed a SNA soldier in Afgoye, Lower Shabelle region on July 2. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the killing.[4]
- Two rival clan militias clashed in Hobyo, Mudug region on July 1. Historical tensions between the clans reportedly prompted the fighting, which killed at least three combatants and injured five others.[5]
