Hezbollah: Potential Missile Ranges Map
The Critical Threats Project has produced a map depicting Hezbollah’s potential missile ranges based off of recent reports that Syria had transferred long-range Scud missiles to the group. On April 13 2010, Israeli President Shimon Peres accused Syria of providing Hezbollah with Scud missiles, an allegation that Syria has denied. Hezbollah refuses to comment on its arsenal, but acknowledges the capability to hit Israeli cities such as Tel Aviv.
Maximum missile ranges are determined from the Lebanon border. Hezbollah would likely launch missiles from its strongholds within Lebanon in the event of a conflict with Israel; therefore, the map also provides a projected missile range from the south Beqa’a Valley.
