- Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Forces Commander Brig. Gen. Ali Fadavi revealed that a mock US aircraft carrier under construction at Iran’s Bandar-e Abbas port is for use in joint training exercises with IRGC Aerospace Forces, Artesh Navy Forces, and Artesh Air Forces.
- Armed Forces General Staff Headquarters Cyber Base Commander Brig, Gen. Behrouz Esbati said that the failed 1980 US Special Forces hostage rescue mission in Iran was a “more miserable defeat” for the US than Vietnam. He said the event “makes the world understand that America is nothing more than a scarecrow that owns an armed and advanced military.”
- Interim Tehran Friday Prayer Leader Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami said President Rouhani should answer the “nonsense” of US President Obama “with a firm strike at his mouth.” He then warned that officials “should not answer bad [behavior] with [good] behavior.”
- Representative of the Supreme Leader in the IRGC Mohammad Rasulollah Unit (Greater Tehran) Hojjat al-Eslam Abdolali Govahi congratulated the anniversary of the failed US hostage rescue mission in Iran and announced the readiness of the Basij to participate in fulfilling the Supreme Leader’s “resistance economy” policies.
