Yemen Security Brief
- Saudi troops stationed near the Saudi-Yemeni border began conducting “tactical operations” in the Yemeni province of Sa’ada on August 27. These operations include the seizure of potential missile deployment sites. Airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition also intensified on August 27, targeting al Houthi and allied Yemeni military forces as they moved toward the Saudi-Yemeni border with heavy weaponry.[1]
Horn of Africa Security Brief
- Somali National Army (SNA) and Africa Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) forces clashed with al Shabaab militants in Hudur, Bakool region, on August 28. The clashes broke out after al Shabaab militants attacked a military base in Hudur. The clashes resulted in ten militant deaths.[2]
